- Village Attorney
The Village Attorney provides legal representation to the Village of Menomonee Falls as a governmental entity. In this role, the Village Attorney works to ensure that the Village can continue to provide the services that residents have come to expect. The Village Attorney’s role is similar to that of a general counsel in a private company.
Can the Village Attorney provide legal advice to individual residents?
No, this is a common misconception. The Village Attorney’s client is the governmental entity and not any single person or part of that entity. The Village, like any private company, has legal matters to deal with and it is the job of the Village Attorney to represent the Village in dealing with those legal matters. Attorneys cannot provide legal representation to any person that is not a client of the attorney.
If you need to hire an attorney to represent you, the State Bar of Wisconsin offers a Lawyer Referral Service available on its website.
