Required for each establishment in the Village of Menomonee Falls that sells, exchanges, barters, disposes of, or gives away any cigarette, tobacco, or vape products (WI Stat. 125.17).
License period: July 1 – June 30 (annual)

There are two options to obtain a Bartender (Operators) License
Village of Menomonee Falls Bartender (Operator) License — valid only within Menomonee Falls.
State of Wisconsin Bartender (Operator) License — valid statewide.

Applications are reviewed by the Clerk's Office. If the background check reveals disqualifying issues, the application will be referred to our General Government Committee where the application may be denied. Fees are non-refundable.

How to Apply
Apply online through the Wisconsin Department of Revenue – My Tax Account (MTA)
Scroll to the “Excise” section and select “Operator’s Permit”
Most applicants must complete an approved Responsible Beverage Server’s Course.
You may be exempt if you:
Held a valid bartender license within the last two years, or
Completed the course within the last two years.
Proof of completion is required before a license is issued. Find approved courses: DOR Alcohol Seller/Server Training.
The Village license is faster and less expensive if you only plan to work within Menomonee Falls.
The State license costs more but is valid in any Wisconsin municipality.
