Sidewalk Construction Permit

Permit Overview

In accordance with Village Ordinance 40-O-99, amended Village Ordinance 393-O-08, and Municipal Code, Section 42-90 and Section 90-21 through Section 90-27, a permit is required prior to any removal, alteration, repairing, replacing, or new installation of concrete sidewalk that is located within the Village right-of-way. This includes all residential, commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties.

Requirements for Engineering Permit Application & Permit Fee

  • Completed Sidewalk Construction Permit
  • A permit fee is required for each parcel of land to remove, replace, or install new sidewalk and/or driveway approach.
  • A permit is also required for for sidewalk repair (mudjacking or crack filling), but there is no permit fee.

Returning the Application

  • Return the completed Sidewalk Construction Permit Application (PDF) and applicable fees to the Engineering Department for review. Specifications and detail drawings for sidewalk construction are available at the time of permit issuance from the Engineering Department. Schedule an Inspection

  • Inspections can be scheduled with a 48 hour advance notice.  Inspections can be scheduled Tuesday through Friday between the hours of 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., as availability allows.  Contact us at 262-532-4411.
