Lilly Rd BridgeProject # Time Frame Project Overview The existing Lilly Road Bridge was built in 1937 and bridge maintenance work took place in 2011. The existing bridge is structurally deficient and lacks pedestrian and bicycle accommodations, and has reached the end of its useful life. Rehabilitation would be a short-term solution and only address motorized vehicle needs. Bridge replacement, on the other hand, would provide pedestrian and bicycle accommodations and have a longer structure life. The proposed bridge is a single-span prestressed concrete girder structure. It will closely follow the existing horizontal and vertical alignment of Lilly Road. There will be 1-12’ northbound travel lane and 1-12’ southbound travel lane. Adjacent to the travel lanes on the bridge will be 5’ shoulders and 6.5’ raised sidewalks. To further improve pedestrian access, a crosswalk, with ADA compliant curb ramps, is proposed on the north side of the Lilly Road and Menomonee Avenue intersection.Lilly Rd Bridge Project Information | |
