Asphalt Paving Program

Project #
41247-3

Time Frame
Summer 2023

Project Overview
The village asphalt paving program replaces asphalt pavement that has deteriorated to such a level that routine maintenance and road sealing is no longer effective. The asphalt paving program consists of removing and replacing the top 2 to 4 inches of asphalt from the road.

Providing new pavement aids in extending the serviceable life of the roadway, which leads to overall cost savings by reducing the need for costly roadway reconstruction.

Curb, Gutter & Driveway Program

Project #
41245

Time Frame
Summer 2023

Project Overview
The village has a program to replace sections of concrete curb and gutter that have been determined to be defective by the Village. The defective sections of curb and gutter usually have settled and exhibit poor drainage and ponding water, which will percolate into the roadway sub-grade resulting in premature deterioration of the roadway pavement and costlier repairs.

If a defective section of curb and gutter is located through a driveway opening, the Village will evaluate the property owners driveway approach and determine if the approach should be replaced. The property owner has the option to have the approach replaced under the program at the owner’s expense.

Seal Coat & Flex Patching Program

Project #
41247-1

Time Frame
Summer 2023

Project Overview
The sealcoating program applies a layer of specially formulated oils and paving material to form a protective barrier from sun, water, and salt.

The flex patching program repairs larger cracks with a flexible aggregate and tar mix without requiring full surface replacement. These extend the life of roads and improve the riding surface with minimum traffic interruption.

Sidewalk Replacement Program

Project #
41244

Time Frame
Summer 2023

Project Overview
The village has a program to replace sections of concrete sidewalk that have been determined to be defective. The defective sections of sidewalk exhibit poor drainage, joint separation, cracking, spalling, and settlement of 3/4 inches or more.

If the section of sidewalk through the driveway opening is deemed defective, the village will evaluate the driveway approach and determine if the approach should be replaced.

Qualifying ¾” trip hazards will be shaved. Removal and replacement of identified defective sidewalks in the project area will be addressed.

Village Park Phase 2

Project #
64074

Time Frame
Summer/Fall 2022 Completed

Project Overview
The Village of Menomonee Falls has approved a contract for construction of a second phase of improvements at Village Park in 2022. The centerpiece of the Phase II project is a 12,000+ square foot accessible play area.  This project also includes a splash pad, pickleball and tennis courts, shaded seating areas, a new parking lot, trail improvements, and a reservable picnic shelter. These improvements build on the 2020 redevelopment of the eastern end of the park which added an amphitheater, multi-purpose plaza, and great lawn. The project supports the goal of the Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan for Village Park to become a destination park and event space.

The play area and splash feature are expected to be among the most utilized features in the Village's park system. This project is supported by a $1 million fundraising campaign being led by the Optimist Club of Menomonee Falls. Construction on the Phase II is expected to begin this spring and continue through the fall.
