The Fire Prevention Bureau prevents fires through Fire Code Enforcement and Public Education. The Bureau also investigates the origin, cause, and circumstances of fires with the assistance of various law enforcement officials.
The Fire Prevention Bureau is responsible for providing fire code plan review and inspection services for new and altered construction.
Approximately 1,500 locations are inspected annually.
