Fire Protection Systems

The Fire Protection Services Permit is required for:

  • New commercial or multi-family residential construction
  • Modifications to existing commercial or multi-family residential structures
  • Fire Sprinkler projects that involve more than 20 sprinkler heads
  • Fire Alarm projects that involve 20 alarm devices or the fire alarm panel
  • Commercial restaurant hoods systems. 

Burning Permits

Permits are not required for the for outdoor fires located on residential property for the purposes of burning yard waste or for recreational fires. There are restrictions regarding specific days of the week, time of day, materials burned and the size of fire. Please see the details in the Outdoor Burning Regulations.
