Night Parking

No Street Parking

Parking for over 30 minutes on any public street or public parking lot is prohibited between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.

These parking restrictions are in effect every day of the year except on the mornings of New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Night Parking Permits and Temporary Overnight Permission 

Applications for night parking permits must be submitted in-person at the Police Department's business office during our normal business hours:

7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday 

Temporary overnight permission may be requested at any hour using our online application.  We also accept requests by telephone (262-532-8700) or in-person during our normal business hours.  Please see the following guidelines. 

Night Parking Permits

Once an application is approved, there is a monthly fee. This permit can be renewed monthly by coming to the Police Department and paying the required fee. All permits begin on the first day of the month and end on the last day of the month.

Night Parking Rules

Cars parked on Village streets overnight (having temporary permission or permit) must adhere to the overnight parking regulations:

• The date used is the date prior to midnight
• Even numbered days - park on the even-numbered side of the street
• Odd numbered days - park on the odd numbered side of the street
• Any trailer attached to a vehicle or otherwise must call the police business office at (262) 532-8700 to seek permission during our normal business hours 

Ineligible vehicles: Motor trucks over 8,000 GVW, motor buses, motorcycles, motor delivery wagons, trailers, semitrailers, cabin trailers, tractors, motor homes and recreational dwellings shall not be eligible for special privilege parking permits. Night Parking Ordinance

Temporary Overnight Permission

• Temporary overnight parking is available on occasion to accommodate guests or other short-term situations.
  • Vehicle make, license plate number, and parking location will need to be disclosed. The odd / even rules as explained above apply. Permission will be granted for a period of no more than three nights in a calendar month. Nightly parking permission is monitored. If abuse is detected (more than three instances in a calendar month), overnight parking will be denied and a permit will be required 
  • Night parking permission cannot be requested in advance and will only be granted on the same day of the request.

Severe Winter Storm

On occasion when severe winter storms occur and snow removal is priority, the Village will restrict parking permission. During a snow emergency no vehicle may be parked on any street, alley or highway, except for the loading / unloading of persons or property. Any vehicle in violation of this restriction may be towed at the owner’s expense.

Temporary Parking Permits

For long term projects such as driveway repair or extended visitors, a temporary parking permit may be obtained for up to two weeks at no charge.
