Waste Management’s Orchard Ridge Drop-Off Facility (N96W13073 County Line Road) for Yard Waste, excess Recycling, and excess Garbage is open. Yard Waste Permits are mailed to property owners in early spring.
By state law, yard waste - such as grass clippings, leaves and tree branches, may not be put in the trash. There are four ways to dispose of these materials. For more information regarding yard waste disposal, please visit our Yard Waste Disposal webpage. Properly labeled invasive plant species (PDF) may be placed at the curb.
Contract Supervision
Public Works supervises the contracts for automated solid waste and recyclable collection. The Village contracts with Waste Management for this service.
Waste Management requires all garbage and recycling to be placed at roadside for pickup by 5:30 a.m. on your regularly scheduled day.
Garbage will only be collected by using the Waste Management provided garbage carts. Any additional garbage containers (not provided by Waste Management) or bags left for collection, will not be picked up and tagged. No loose trash will be accepted.
Starting the week of August 4, 2025, garbage and recycling routes will undergo route optimization which may affect residents' collection schedules going forward. Refer to the updated collection route maps under the Garbage and Recycling sections below to determine if your collection days have changed. All residents will receive a postcard mailer from Waste Management addressing these changes.
Holiday Schedule
Waste Management staff work all holidays except New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. When one of these holidays falls on a weekday, residential collection will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week. If a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, there will be no delays.
Missed Pickups
For missed pickups of garbage and/or recycling, click here to report a missed pickup via the link that will appear under the "Next Pickup" section after 6 pm on your service day and will remain for 72 hours. Missed pickups cannot be scheduled if your container was not out or was blocked at the time of service. For additional assistance, look through the Waste Management Customer Service page, email cswisconsin@wm.com, or call 888-960-0008.
