Stranded on the Road

Overview

If you are stranded on the road, our primary concern is safety for you and the motoring public.

If you are a hazard, the police need to get you and your vehicle into a safe spot as soon as possible. Sometimes the police car will be able to push your vehicle to a place of safety. The police also know of tow companies that are on call 24 hours who usually respond within 30 minutes.

Highway

Depending on the type of highway you're on, there may be a need to move your vehicle completely off the highway immediately.

The Menomonee Falls Police Department has a policy of immediate removal from the freeway system (USH 41/45) and other higher speed roadways where a "clear zone" has been designed into the roadway right of way.
