Note: The village does not reimburse property owners for lawn damage caused by snowplowing. We will create a service request and place properties with lawn damage due to snowplowing on a list for restoration and repair by the village. As soon as weather conditions are favorable in the spring, crews will be sent into your area to repair the lawn damage caused by snowplowing operations with topsoil, seed and mulch. In some cases, we’ve also had success with replacing (rolling back) the damaged sod earlier in the year or shortly after the damage occurred. Please keep in mind that the ground temperature must be about 60-65 degrees in order for any plantings to germinate. This can typically be as late as mid June depending upon what our over night and day time temperatures are.
The Village of Menomonee Falls will repair or replace mailboxes that are hit by snowplows during plowing operations.

The village is not responsible for repair or replacement of mailboxes or posts which are deteriorated, rotted, installed incorrectly or have been damaged by snow thrown from the end of the plow.

The village will investigate reports of damage to mailboxes. For damage determined to be the responsibility of the village, the following steps will be taken:

• Village crews will complete temporary repairs as quickly as possible to allow for mail delivery to the property.
• Permanent repairs will be completed by the village in the spring after frost leaves the ground and installation of the new mailbox post is possible.
• Mailboxes and posts damaged beyond repair will be replaced by the village in accordance with official Postal Standards. Mailboxes replaced by the village will include a standard mailbox and post at an estimated cost of $45.00.
• If the property owner chooses to install their preferred mailbox and post, an original receipt must be provided to the village and the village will reimburse the property owner up to a maximum amount of $45.00 for the cost of the mailbox and post.

Reimbursement requests along with the original receipt can be mailed to:
