[ARCHIVED] Dyed Water Testing Starting September 8

As part of efforts to reduce clear water entry into the sanitary sewer system, the Village of Menomonee Falls has retained the services of a consultant to perform dyed water testing of storm sewers and ditches in selected areas.

The procedure consists of filling the storm sewer system or storm ditch with non-toxic bright green colored dye. The contractor will then video the Village’s sanitary sewers adjacent to the storm sewer or storm ditch to look for sources of dyed water entering the sanitary sewer system. If you have any questions during the testing, please ask one of the on-site inspectors.

When testing has been completed, the dyed water will be released to flow into the downstream stormwater system, which drains to Butler Ditch.

NOTE:

Dyed water testing is scheduled to occur between September 8th and November 7th, weather dependent. This notice has been distributed to residents in the selected areas within 3 to 10 days of the dyed water testing in your area.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Brown and Caldwell project manager, Julie McMullin, at 414-294-8296 or Village Utilities Director Jeff Nettesheim, 262-532-4848.
