Protect your vehicle and prevent crime by making smart choices to minimize your risk of being a victim by:
- Keep all doors and windows locked.
- Do not keep ignition key or fob in the vehicle.
- Lock all valuables in the trunk and out of sight when parked.
- Record the make, model, license plate and serial number of your vehicle.
- Park your vehicle in a well-lit area, as close to your destination as possible.
- Remove all cash and credit cards from vehicle.
- Remove and secure electronics, computers and phones.
- Garage door openers left unsecured allow access into garages and homes.
- Closing your garage door when your vehicle is parked inside.
- Consider utilizing a vehicle tracking device via your cell phone.
