Used motor oil is a hazardous substance that requires special handling. Do not place motor oil in the trash or recycling and never dump it in sewers or household drains.
The Village provides a drop-off location for residents to dispose of used oil and used oil filters at the Department of Public Works located at N72W15900 Good Hope Road. Please enter using the westernmost driveway, and in the large outside storage shed on the west side of the property is where the used oil tank is located. Empty your containers into the tank, and dispose of your can/container(s) in the dumpster and your oil filters in the barrels marked "Used Oil Filters Only".
Please note: Do not dispose of anything other than the listed acceptable items or motor oil with PCBs. Oil contaminated with PCBs is considered hazardous waste and can only be accepted by hazardous waste contractors. The motor oil drum is monitored and violators will be prosecuted.
