Record make, model, and serial number and keep in a safe place.
Register your bicycle with the police department.
Report your stolen bicycle to the police department as soon as possible.
Report suspicious persons observed near bicycle racks.
Use authorized bike racks. In other areas, secure your bike in a frequently traveled, well-lit area.
Make sure to lock both your frame and a wheel to the bike rack.
At home, keep your bike out of sight.
Things Not To Do
Leave your bicycle unattended and unlocked.
Use small cable or chain lock, they can easily be cut with bolt cutters.
Secure to chain link fence or other objects significantly weaker in strength than your lock.
