What We Do

Overview
With many current active members, the Explorers get a hands-on learning experience with skills such as:
  • Hose training
  • Ladder drills
  • Search and rescue
  • Rescue and fire tool usage
  • Communication equipment and skills development
  • Simulations of fire and accident situations, including auto extrication
  • CPR and Red Cross First Aid training
  • Use of fire gear and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), the dry-land equivalent of SCUBA
Practicing skills such as these allows the explorers to effectively utilize their minds and bodies in a positive and efficient manner, and provides them with some of the personal and relational attributes that will assist them in college, a career, or the fire service.
